Electricity
Transfer of contracts
Traffic lights and street lighting transferred to SDEC
The intertown group for energy and amenities of Calvados (SDEC) to which 705 towns belong received the contract from the town council (the majority) for:
Overseeing future projects
Maintenance
The functioning of equipment
Conditions
The existing installations will be put at the disposition of SDEC with the town still owning them
New installations will be part of SDEC then returned to the town when completed
SDEC and the town will take decisions together to start work
N.B. A videosurveillance system will be installed at five junctions.
Annual cost 79,117€
When asked “Why this transfer?” the mayor replied that “SDEC has helped us particularly in subsidising the putting underground of cabling” We learned then that the town services can be transferred as a thank you – this needs delving into.
The advantages of this compared to a municpal or group service were not explained any further.
